Well the day after New Years Day. We had family over today. Family that had had a bereavement, so it was good to get together. They all brought lovely gifts and we had a lovely time. There was about ten of us. we all had lunch, log fire and lots of talking over each other. Our niece seemed tired and she's starting a course on Tuesday morn, so hope she'll chilling out and taking it easy tonight. I need to do a serious Post Christmas Clear-Out....... I'll wait until after Jan 7th to take the Christmas Tree down. Missed the news all day today, so have no clue what's happening in the world which is great as usually I'm totally up to date. Really enjoying the blog of a single father, whom I'm following. Great to see his total devotion to his little daughter. All very vague from me. That's the idea!

New Years Day 2011

well, still haven't got the hang of this blog thing. Don't know whether I'm "momfromireland" or auburnvillas.blogspot.com. Think it's the latter. Too much computer stuff going on in my life. Have been practicing uploading photo's , making albums, uploading to Fb and it goes great but by the time I do it again, I've forgotten. Too tired now to say anything of consequence, except this year I'm following two new blogs which I'm looking forward to. Hope to post lots of pics. Enjoyed our White Christmas in Ireland and can only assume, economically, things couldn't get any worse in Ireland and the world over in 2011. So on that note, I'll wish you all a good one!

Black Thursday

Well it has been dubbed Black Thursday today 30th September 2010. I'm old enough to remember Black Monday in 1987. Worrying times. A lot of uncertainty, but in our small country my generation born late 50's early 60's are probably the first generation in the history of the state to have known such plenty. Well the party's over but that's okay. Hard times for lots of people but there will always be highs and lows and we will come out of this. It's just have we hit the bottom or are we still in Freefall. We don't know. Remains to be seen. I gather a lot of the other nations, particularly in Europe are resentful of our years of excess. What can I say. No excuse. Just that by our very nature, we live for today. Maybe we do everything a little bit to the extreme. But then that's the side of us that makes us the craic! Hopefully things will get better. Keep you posted.

B.T.W. Bill Clinton was at University College Dublin today. A most welcome visitor who will not be forgotten for the part he played in the Peace Process.

Back home from Brittas Bay

Well, I'm back in Dublin from Brittas Bay after a lovely summer. Back to the real world now. Unpacking and getting back into city life again. The long hazy days by the beach are over for this year. I just had a call from my friend in Canada, called Sharon also. Great to chat with someone so far away. She's in Calgary and we have great old chats. That's all for now. I'll make this more interesting when I get used to it. BTW I also have great chats with my friends daughter, she lives between Ireland and the states (the daughter that is) and we talk about.......STUFF

Sunday, August 22, 2010

Well I'm blogging from the east coast of Ireland. From a little holiday home park at the edge of the beach. All is quiet here as the season in coming to a close and we all have to return to our lives in the City. School runs, work etc., It's a whole new academic year. New beginnings and it will be interesting to see how things turn out.

I sooooo don't know my way around all this?

Thursday, May 7, 2009

I wanted to go onto the blog "three sons and a princess", which I used to go on to regularly, but now it appears I have to be invited. I have a lot in common with Jeneflower but don't know what I have to do to access her blog?
